In this article, I’ll discuss 5 of the best data science courses for beginners on the internet.
All of these courses only require basic knowledge of data science, machine learning, and programming.

1. Programming for Data Science with Python Nanodegree (Udacity)
This is a project-based program that will give you hands-on experience with:
- Python
- SQL
- Command Lines
- Git for Data Science projects
There are three sections under this Nanodegree:
- Introduction to SQL
- Introduction to Python Programming
- Introduction to Version Control
This Nanodegree is also an excellent way to prepare for the Become a Data Scientist Nanodegree, which is more advanced. I went through that Nanodegree a couple of years ago and I highly recommend it.

2. The Data Science Course: Complete Data Science Bootcamp (Udemy)
This course is offered by 365 Data Science on Udemy. It’s one of the most comprehensive courses on data science on the internet. It has over 28 hours of video and it has over 500 downloadable resources. It covers topics such as:
- Processing data
- Machine learning
- statistics
- probability
- Python functions
- And much more
3. Programming for Data Science with R Nanodegree (Udacity)
This is a project-based program that will give you hands-on experience with:
- The R programming language
- SQL
- Command Lines
- Git for Data Science projects
The three sections under this program are:
- Introduction to SQL
- Introduction to R Programming
- Introduction to Version Control
4. Applied Data Science with Python Specialization (Coursera)
This is a specialization that contains five short courses and it’s offered by the University of Michigan. It covers topics such as:
- Inferential statistical analysis
- Data analysis with applied machine learning
- Data visualizations
- the connectivity of social networks
The sections that fall under it are:
- Introduction to Data Science in Python
- Applied Plotting, Charting & Data Representation in Python

5. Python for Data Science and Machine Learning Bootcamp (Udemy)
This course covers topics such as:

This course contains 100 video lectures and detailed code notebooks for every lecture.
Bonus: Predictive Analytics for Business (Udacity)
Predictive analytics plays a major part in most data science jobs, which is why I included this at the end. This project-based program covers how to apply predictive analytics and business intelligence to solve real-world business problems.
